Clawson Siding Installation Update: The House Is Almost Finished

Our Clawson siding installation has reached the stage where you can see how the house will look when we’re done. The Harbor Grey siding now covers most of the exterior. We still have a few things to finish on the house, and then we’ll move on to the garage.

If you saw our earlier posts, you know this job involved more than a color change. We also found damaged wood after removing the old siding. That work had to come first. Now we can step back, look at the new siding in place, and see how far the house has come.

Harbor Grey on the House

The homeowners chose Mastic Carvedwood siding in Harbor Grey. From the street, the new color looks especially good next to the brick on the front of the house. Along the sides and back, the white window trim gives the gray siding a clean edge.

The photos give you a better sense of the color than a small sample can. It looks a little different in the shade beside the house than it does across the open back wall. That’s something we always tell homeowners to consider when choosing a color. Their brick, roof, trim, and landscaping all affect how siding looks on the finished house.

A Closer Look at the Progress

One of the photos shows the long side wall with the new siding running from the front section toward the back of the house. Another shows the rear wall, where you can see the siding around the upper and lower windows. These are big sections of the job, and getting them covered makes a noticeable difference.

The front is coming together too. The Harbor Grey siding sits above the existing brick, so the house keeps some of its original character. We like that combination. The new siding updates the exterior without making the brick feel like an afterthought.

You’ll also spot ladders, materials, and an unfinished section near the roofline in these pictures. That’s because we took them while the crew was still working. We want to show the job at this point, then come back with finished photos once we’ve completed the remaining details.

The Work Behind the New Siding

In our previous update, we showed what can happen when old siding comes off. We found damaged wood on this Clawson house that wasn’t visible from the outside. Our crew replaced the affected areas so the new siding would have a solid surface behind it.

That step matters, even though no one will see the repaired wood in the finished photos. Once the wall is ready, the crew can move on to the house wrap, siding, and trim. Each part of the job supports the next.

Next Up: Finishing the House and Siding the Garage

We’re close on the house, but we still have a few items to finish before we call it complete. The garage comes next. In these photos, you can see the crew working on its exterior while the siding is still off.

Once the garage gets its new siding, it will bring the two buildings together. Right now, the house shows where this project is headed, while the garage still shows some of the work it takes to get there. We’ll share another update when both are finished.
