Royal Oak James Hardie Light Mist Siding Project: Before We Get Started

We’re starting another Royal Oak James Hardie siding project, and this one should look great when it’s finished. Brandon stopped by before our crew started to take a quick video of the home.

The homeowners recently had new black windows installed by another company. We did not install the windows, but we love how they look. They give us a great starting point for the new exterior.

Our crew will install James Hardie siding in Light Mist with white trim around the windows and doors. The combination should give this Royal Oak home a fresh, clean look.

Black Windows With Light Mist James Hardie

The new black windows immediately stand out on this house. Once we install the new siding, they should look even better.

The homeowners chose Light Mist instead of a darker siding color. We think that was a great choice for this home. The lighter siding will create plenty of contrast with the black windows.

We’ll also add white trim around the windows and doors. That will help frame the black windows and tie the whole exterior together.

Light Mist, white trim, and black windows make a simple color combination. Sometimes simple choices create the best-looking homes.

Royal Oak James Hardie Siding in Light Mist

For this project, we’re installing James Hardie siding in Light Mist.

Light Mist is a soft, light color that can brighten up a home without making it completely white. It also works well with both black and white accents.

James Hardie offers plenty of siding colors and styles for homeowners. You can explore James Hardie siding colors on their website.

For this Royal Oak home, Light Mist should create the exact look the homeowners want.

A Good Siding Job Starts Behind the Siding

The finished color gets most of the attention, but proper installation matters even more.

Before we install the new siding, our crew focuses on preparing the home correctly. We check the exterior and look for any issues that need attention.

We also pay close attention to flashing and water management. These details help protect the home long after we finish the project.

Why We Like James Hardie for Michigan Homes

James Hardie gives homeowners a great mix of appearance and durability. It also comes in many colors and styles.

That makes it a popular option for homes throughout Royal Oak and Metro Detroit.

Michigan weather can be tough on an exterior. We deal with hot summers, heavy rain, snow, ice, and freezing temperatures. Choosing the right siding and installing it correctly can make a big difference.

Brandon took this video so we could document the starting point. It’ll be fun to compare it with the finished house.

Once we complete the Royal Oak James Hardie siding, we’ll post an after photo of the transformation.

We’re especially excited to see those black windows against the new Light Mist siding and white trim. It should completely change the look of the house.
