Memorial Day Sylvan Lake | Level Up Improvement Joins the Community
Memorial Day in Sylvan Lake looked a little different for the Level Up Improvement team this year, and honestly, we would not have it any other way.
We had the privilege of joining the Sylvan Lake Memorial Day parade, with our salesman Brad behind the wheel of the Level Up truck, representing our company through the heart of the community. It was one of those moments that reminds you why you do what you do. We are not just a roofing and siding company that shows up, does the job, and disappears. We are part of this area. We live here, we work here, and when the community comes together, we want to be there too.
We hope everyone across Oakland County and the surrounding area had a chance to enjoy the long weekend, spend time with family, and take a real moment to think about why we have this holiday in the first place.
What Memorial Day Actually Means
It is easy for Memorial Day to get lost in the noise of the long weekend. The cookouts, the sales, the unofficial start of summer. None of that is bad, but it can overshadow the real reason behind the day.
Memorial Day exists to honor the United States service members who died while serving in the military. These are people who raised their hand, put on a uniform, and gave everything. Some of them were young. Some of them never made it home to their families. All of them deserve to be remembered.
Taking a moment of silence, visiting a memorial, attending a local parade, or simply saying thank you to a veteran, these are small things that carry real weight. The Sylvan Lake Memorial Day parade is exactly the kind of community gathering that keeps that memory alive. People show up, they line the streets, and they honor something bigger than themselves. That means something.
Brad and the Level Up Truck in the Memorial Day Sylvan Lake
When the opportunity came up to be part of the Sylvan Lake Memorial Day parade, we did not hesitate. Brad loaded up and drove the Level Up Improvement truck through the parade route, flying our colors through a community we genuinely care about.
Brad has been a key part of our team for a while now, and putting him in that seat to represent the company felt right. He is out in these neighborhoods every week, talking to homeowners, helping people figure out what their roof or siding needs, and building relationships. Having him drive through the Sylvan Lake parade was a natural extension of that. This is his community too.
We got a lot of waves, a lot of smiles, and a few people who recognized the truck from a job we did nearby. That never gets old.
Why Community Involvement Matters to Us
Level Up Improvement is based in Royal Oak, but we work across Oakland County, Wayne County, and Macomb County. Sylvan Lake is one of the communities we serve regularly, and it has a character that is hard not to appreciate. It is a small city with a tight sense of community, and events like the Memorial Day parade reflect that perfectly.
For us, showing up to something like this is not a marketing move. It is just the right thing to do. We are a local company. We are not a national chain with a call center somewhere across the country. We are your neighbors. When there is a chance to stand alongside the community, we are going to take it.
We believe that doing good work and being good community members go hand in hand. The homeowners who trust us with their roofs and their siding are the same people lining the streets at the Sylvan Lake parade. That connection matters to us.
Thank You to Everyone Who Served
Before anything else, Memorial Day is about gratitude. Gratitude for the people who served, and for the families who supported them and grieved them. No parade, no cookout, and no long weekend fully captures what that sacrifice means. But we can choose to honor it, and we should.
To every veteran and every active duty service member, thank you. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.
From the entire Level Up Improvement team, we hope your Memorial Day weekend was a good one. We are proud to be part of this community, and we look forward to continuing to serve the people of Sylvan Lake and the rest of metro Detroit for years to come.
